TLFC Board Members

Paul Fabre, Chairperson, has been a teacher and mentor/counselor for at risk students in the NYC and Miami Dade Public Schools for over 25 years. He is a board member of the Haitian American Educators of Dade, and served on the advisory board of Pine Crest School. His commitment and dedication to STTF grew immensely following the summer soccer camp he lead with his son for the students at STTF.

Patrenia Dozier Washington, Vice –Chair, is a retired MDCPS teacher and an Executive Board member for the United Teachers of Dade (UTD).  Patrenia facilitated the TLFC partnership with UTD, helped coordinate fundraising events, and made several visits to STTF. She initiated and funded the STTF Fencing Project. Her networking skills and strong community ties bring much support to TLFC.

Crystal Archable, Ph.D., is a psychologist who has practiced in the South Florida community for about 35 years. She works with children, schools and families to support children in overcoming environmental disadvantages that may impede reaching their fullest potential. Crystal’s fundraising efforts for Sant Twa Ti Flè extends to her family and friends from Florida and Maryland.

Desiree Avila is a former teacher at Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory School, in Hollywood, FL During her tenure at Chaminade she spearheaded student fundraising activities and school supply drives to benefit Sant Twa Ti Flè. 

Sam Barthelmy is a retired educator and administrator from New York City. An accomplished artist, photographer and writer, Sam has shared his talents by donating his works for Three Little Flowers Center, Inc.(TLFC) fundraising.  He also serves as TLFC photographer during various events.

Faidherbe Boyer, a former student of Dr. Yves Dejean, and owner of CREOLETRANS, has supported Sant Twa Ti Flè (STTF) since 1987.  Fedo has volunteered for years, working side by side with Dr. Dejean. He and his wife, Haitian author Edwidge Danticat continue to visit STTF and volunteer their time, talent, and books in support of TLFC fundraising efforts. 

Beverly Christian

Elena Del Alamo is a retired educator and VP of Admissions from Pine Crest High School, and a faithful supporter of Food for the Poor (FFP). She has guided Pine Crest students’ efforts with various events to benefit STTF. She spearheaded the writing of the grant proposal to FFP for the newly added Early Childhood classrooms at STTF. Elena’s dedication and commitment to STTF is immeasurable. 

Yanick Douyon has been a teacher and teacher-trainer for many years and in a number countries, including in Haiti. Her interest in promoting education led her to join the board and to support Sant Twa Ti Flè whenever possible. During her visits to Fort Royal, Yanick shared her teaching skills with staff, cleaned, organized classrooms, and participated in community meetings and activities.

Officers

Nancy Graham Guerrier, President, is an MDCPS teacher servicing Haitian Creole students and a presenter for the Bilingual Parent Outreach Program where she delivers useful life-skill and educational information to Haitian-Creole parents. Nancy develops Haitian Creole curriculum lessons and trains the teachers during visits to Fort Royal.

Yves Degand, Vice President, is a retired business owner and experienced manager of production. He handles the logistics and coordination of activities for volunteers, donors, and teachers when visiting Sant Twa Ti Flè.  Yves also facilitates and oversees the shipping of materials, supplies and equipment to the school.

Paulette Degand, Treasurer is a Mathematics Teacher for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. She has over 30 years experience as an educator. She shares her expertise with the staff of Sant Twa Ti Flè during professional development seminars, modeling lessons, and teaching best practices and strategies to engage learners.

Guilhene Benjamin, Ph.D., Assistant Treasurer, is a long-time supporter of TLFC. She worked as a psychologist in Haiti and served in MDCPS schools and administrative offices as a Guidance Counselor, Bilingual Assessor, and Program Coordinator. She is the author of the Enchor/AKOR parenting program, which she implemented in a research program with the University of Miami.

Josette Baron Paris, Secretary is a former administrator for New York City and Miami Dade County Public Schools, and a Professional Development Facilitator for the University of Florida in Miami-Dade.  Josette is a former student of Dr. Dejean and has supported TLFC since 1987. She serves as an administrative mentor, curriculum development support, and a teacher trainer during TLFC visits to Sant Twa Ti Flè.

Martine Ferdinand Fabre, Assistant Secretary has been a MDCPS teacher for the past fifteen years. She also taught bilingual education to Haitian students in the New York City Public Schools for seven years. Martine provides curriculum development support and teacher training during visits to Sant Twa Ti Flè.

Wilhel Jean-Louis, Ph.D., Building and Community Development Chair and founding member of TLFC. As a School Psychologist with MDCPS, she serves a number of Haitian students and parents. She acted for many years as a bilingual and special education teacher. Wilhel provides guidance and support to Sant Twa Ti Flè teachers and community during professional development seminars.

Lodz Deetjen, Communication Liaison is a MDCPS early childhood teacher, owner and Director of the Learning Nest Academy, a birth-4 yr old center in Miami Gardens, FL.  Lodz provides not only materials and supplies for the early childhood classrooms but serves as the key teacher trainer in early learning to Sant Twa Ti Flè staff during visits.

Yolande Pierre, Administrative & Academic Advisor is a native of Petit Goave, where she currently resides since her retirement as a MDCPS teacher. Yolande visits the school bi-weekly to observe and identify needs, trains and mentors teachers, staff, and administrative personnel.

Active Members

   Ernst Jean-Louis and his musical group have entertained the audience at our fundraising galas and other 3LFC events. As a retired mental health therapist and paramedic, Ernst also provides health-related seminars for youth and adults for the STTF community during visits.

Martine Mathieu, RN, is an experienced and devoted Oncology Nurse working in Florida. She ensured that patients and families are provided exceptional care under her supervision. Martine shares her expertise with the communities of South Florida and Sant Twa Ti Flè by providing health education and medical resources for staff, children, and families.

Nerlande Sanon, is a 30 year veteran Child Abuse investigator for the Department of Children and Families. She currently serves as an immigration interpreter for Haitians in deportation proceedings. She brings her expertise to TLFC as a member of several organizations supporting the betterment of children.
